Expanded range

SKF has expanded its range of sealed spherical roller bearings (Fig.). Currently, over 100 sizes are available. With integral seals, these spherical roller bearings are protected against both particle contamination and moisture, enabling them to be relubrication-free in most applications. As the bearings do not require protection from external seals in all but aggressive environments, installation is simplified, further reducing downtime and maintenance costs. Additionally, the integral seals virtually eliminate the risk of lubricant leakage associated with conventional open bearings, minimizing their environmental impact. As is the case with all SKF Explorer spherical roller bearings, the sealed variant has a number of features that make them excellent for use in demanding applications such as material handling, off highway, metal and mining industry. These bearings provide higher dynamic load carrying capacity than previous standard designs, enabling design engineers to „downsize“ their application.
