Proved versatility

The company group Ben&Ben in Cluj Napoca/Romania runs various quarries in the region around Turda and, amongst other things, produces asphalt and concrete. So far almost exclusively stationary plants have been used in the quarries. However, following the international trend, they have now decided to procure the first mobile crushing plant.

In spring the company had been awarded a contract for the supply of materials for the construction of the motorway between Gilau and Turda. This motorway will be built by the Bechtel Company and Ben&Ben will supply the material for the substructure. Granite with a basic grain size of approx. 300 to 400 mm will be crushed down to a particle size of 0–63 mm. The prerequisite to receive this award was the availability of a powerful plant able to produce a high-quality final grain size. After a detailed analysis of the rock crushing plants available in the market, they decided in favour of an Innocrush 35 from the Austrian Linz-based company dsb Maschinenbau GmbH, with which a throughput of 300 t/h can be achieved (Fig.). In order to complete the 40 km section of the motorway within a short time period, it was necessary for the plant to be in operation for four months in two shifts. During this time the plant was running perfectly 20 hours every day. Another advantage of the crusher is that the all kinds of materials can be comminuted.
