Summary: Whether you mean the fractionization of particles into individual particle size classes with different particle size ranges, or simply a separation or sorting into individual components of different types of material or properties – the technologies used for this are often the same, or at least similar. Theoretical calculations e. g. based on acceleration forces, etc. can only head you in the general direction, generally leaving you with the ­prospect of long series of tests, the results of which have to be compared based on the application of practical possibilities and modifications, to find the optimum solution for the respective problem.

1 Screening and Sizing

To meet the various requirements, different principles are available in screening systems. Matched to the concrete application, these make provision for the ever different product-specific properties based on, for example, the possible acceleration forces and screen motion. In addition, they differ to meet the requirements of the various industrial sectors. For example, the screen sizing of abrasive grades to meet standards, in which usually high accelerations for low throughput rates are required, to separate the products even at low mesh widths to around 45 -30  µm.
