Maintenance-friendly 3 MW Drive-Units
SGS drive unit SGS Sonder Getriebe Service GmbH designs maintenance friendly drive units for overland conveying systems for one of the leading materials handling equipment manufacturers (Fig.). SGS achieves the optimized maintainability for their drive units by utilization of FEA optimized drive components and wear free seals on input and output shafts. The gear units are designed as a reverse mounting gear units, which can be easily installed as left hand or right hand drive units on conveyor systems. Those design features are optimizing the operational costs of maintenance and stocking of spare parts for the end-user. The drive units are mounted with a hydraulic flange coupling onto the drive pulley. The complete drive unit measures 7.5 m length and 4.15 m height and weights about 50 tonnes.
