Solids rotary vane gate, type SRVP The solids rotary vane gate, type SRVP (Fig.), has been substantially further developed by S.S.T. Schüttguttechnik. The dimensioning and configuration of the rotor, have been designed in such a way that the sparks approaching with very high velocity during a dust explosion will be extinguished in the rotary vane gate. The axial fastening of the rotor was adapted to the increased loads and was reinforced. Special shaft seals improve the tightness towards the outside. The rotary vane gate was tested under explosion conditions at a generally recognized and authorized test site – the DEKRA-Exam including experi-mental gallery. In addition, various test series were carried out with dust explosions. The pressure shock resistance of up to 13 bar overpressure of the solids rotary vane gate, type SRVP, as well as its flame-proof reliability have been certified by a prototype test. Thus, the rotary vane gate is a category 1 protective system according to ATEX RL 94/9/EG and can be used in zone 20 with a declaration of conformity.
